What is Intra Uterine Device (IUD) ?
Intra Uterine Device (IUD) is a small, flexible plastic frame with copper sleeves or wire around it. And insert it into woman’s uterine through vagina and cervix. Do not contain hormone, and so can be used throughout breastfeeding and by women who cannot use methods with estrogen.
Can protect pregnant for 10 years. Requiring you to meet your health care provider to insertion or move if you have any problems or question or you want pregnant earlier. Please contact SMARTgirl club or someone from the club will refer you a specialized doctor who can help you pick a suitable method. It won’t take a long time or cost you much money.
- Starting use on any day between the 1st and 12th day of your menstrual cycle
- Can be inserted as soon as desired after giving birth
- Starting use within 7 days of miscarriage or abortion, after 7 days need to use backup methods
- Can be insertion as soon as you have unprotected sex (IUD can be used as an emergency contraceptive)
